Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Chicago is a non-profit children’s literacy organization inspiring children to be lifelong readers through the power of choice — choosing their own books.
RIF needed a modern way to attract and connect with donors. But as a nonprofit organization, finding resources had proven to be a big obstacle. Their mission spoke to our hearts — as a group of makers, we feel incredibly lucky to be living out our passion for design, development and strategy every day at Rightpoint. If our skills could help put kids on the path for success and rewarding work, we were in.

Warm the Heart & Build Lasting Connections
To show the direct impact books had on kids' imagination & learning, we shared stories written by the RIF kids. Videos and images capturing their joy when they can choose a new book or are inspired by a story in book club, powerfully connect donors to their world.
Highlight Credibility by Showing the Impact of Giving
The new donation platform offers users built-in choices for gift amounts that are clearly linked to tangible results. And with transparency into RIF’s expenses and partnerships, their authenticity is never in question.
Build a Compelling Brand That Resonates With Donors
A strong visual identity provides differentiation, builds trust and loyalty. We refreshed the brand identity to reinforce RIF’s long-standing contributions in Chicago. The design drew inspiration from a library stamp - here the seal represents the opportunity to give children access to literature and information.
